The M.Sc. programme «Advanced Cybersecurity Technologies and Governance» is established within the framework of the European project EU-iNSPIRE (EU iNnovative multi-diSciPlinary Industry-focused cybersecurity education for upskilling and Reskilling the EU workforce) which started in January 2025, has a duration of four (4) years, and is funded under the programme DIGITAL-2023-SKILLS-05 (Grant Agreement No. 101190054). Specifically, for the first two (2) cohorts of operation, the organisational and operational costs of the M.Sc. programme, including the tuition fees for students from EU countries , are covered by the funding of this project.
The M.Sc. «Advanced Cybersecurity Technologies and Governance» is interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral in nature and focuses on the specialization of scientists in the fields of cybersecurity, data protection, and governance of relevant environments.
The M.Sc. «Advanced Cybersecurity Technologies and Governance» is interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral in nature and focuses on the specialization of scientists in the fields of cybersecurity, data protection, and governance of relevant environments. The purpose of the M.Sc. is the advancement of scientific knowledge in the fields of cybersecurity technologies, data protection, and governance of relevant environments. Within this context, graduates of the program will be able to work professionally in matters related to cybersecurity technologies, data protection, and governance of relevant environments in businesses and organizations of the private and public sector, as well as produce new knowledge within related research initiatives.
The objectives of the M.Sc. «Advanced Cybersecurity Technologies and Governance» that is the means to achieve the aforementioned purpose, include:
• The interdisciplinary specialization of scientists from the field of information and communication technologies and, more broadly, from the technology of natural sciences and management sciences, in the knowledge domains of cybersecurity, data protection, and governance of relevant environments
• The acquisition by graduates of the appropriate knowledge and skills so that they can engage in research in related scientific areas, with the aim of producing new knowledge
• The capacity of graduates to contribute to the development of knowledge and technologies and the adoption of practices in the professional field and to acquire operational capability to address problems and implement solutions, primarily in environments of digital transformation and crisis management
• The capacity of graduates to evaluate, interpret, and promote modern scientific research and studies relevant to their field of knowledge
• The utilization, by the graduates, of solutions that are structured in a scientifically substantiated manner, for addressing complex interdisciplinary problems that arise in their professional or research environments
• The autonomous development of their knowledge and capabilities
• The cultivation, in graduates, of abilities and skills that will allow improvement of communication skills, creativity, analytical thinking, collaboration, leadership, motivation, self-awareness, and the resolution of complex problems.
The M.Sc. awards a Master of Science Diploma in Advanced Cybersecurity Technologies and Governance (“M.Sc. in Advanced Cybersecurity Technologies and Governance”).
The Master’s Degree Certificate (diploma) is an official public document, the format of which is determined by decision of the Senate. It is drawn up and awarded in both Greek and English. Master’s Degree Programmes lead to a qualification at Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). The diploma is signed by the Rector, the Head of the Department, and the Department Secretary. The grade of the diploma is classified as follows: 5.00–6.49 GOOD, 6.50–8.49 VERY GOOD, and 8.50–10.00 EXCELLENT. The register of M.Sc. graduates is signed by the Department Secretary, the Head of the Department, and the Rector of the University. A Diploma Supplement, issued in both Greek and English, is attached to the diploma in accordance with the provisions of Article 15 of Law 3374/2005 (Government Gazette A’ 189) and Ministerial Decision Ref. No. Φ5/89656/Β3/13.8.07 (Government Gazette B’ 1466).
